Hahn hosts Interfaith Prayer breakfast with local faith leaders from the 44th District. LONG BEACH — Church One Ministries in North Long Beach was the host site to the 44th Congressional District’s annual Interfaith Prayer Breakfast, Oct. 15.
Rep. Janice Hahn, D-44th District, hosted the prayer breakfast with local faith leaders from the district.
“This event is so important because it is an opportunity to connect with you, the faith leaders of our communities, who are on the ground every day working with local families,” said Hahn. “I appreciate the work the faith leaders in my community do every day.”
This year, the lawmaker’s remarks focused on Pope Francis’ recent visit to the U.S. and his address to a joint session of Congress. Congresswoman Hahn is herself a Christian and spoke to the attendees about the role faith plays in her own life.
“I was raised to believe in the incredible power of faith,” she said. “We are taught that our faith has the power to move mountains. This is a very powerful truth that I find I need to remind myself of often because heaven knows we are not short on mountains that need moving in Washington.”
