City of Los Angeles Officials announced Captain Michael Oreb, a San Pedro native was named commander of the LAPD’s Harbor Division station,. He begins on March 20, 2016.
“If we were a football team, I feel like we got Vince Ferragamo as quarterback,” said Los Angeles City Councilman Joe Buscaino, a former LAPD officer who has known Oreb through the years.
Captain Oreb brings experience in working with the homeless on Skid Row as commanding officer of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Division following stints with the department’s Hollywood Area Gang Impact Team, which brought him a meritorious unit citation from the LAPD. He went on to become commanding officer of Hollywood detectives and was promoted to captain of Central Patrol Division in 2012.
