The City Council will vote on Tuesday whether to censure Dear, essentially condemning his behavior. But that’s not enough. Dear, who was mayor of Carson for 11 years, is out of control and it’s time he leaves City Hall for good.
It’s doubtful Dear will step down on his own, however. That’s why voters must follow through on what would be a second attempt to recall him.
Dear survived a recall while he was mayor, but the community can’t give up. Because he is an elected official, it’s the voters’ responsibility to boot him out of office.
